OCCUPY CARAVAN

Nine months after it was born in a small park near Wall Street, the Occupy movement has traveled the nation’s highways from West to East in a civil rights road trip called “Occupy Caravan”. Inspired by American folk singer hero Woody Guthrie, who sang about economic injustice based on his travels in the Great Depression, the journey has taken people around the country to protest Wall Street’s corrupting influence on de- mocracy. Starting on the 11th of June, vehicles and protesters have enlivened towns and cities for 3 weeks and have brought the Occupy spirit through the Heartland from Oakland, Ca to Philadelphia, were the first American Constitution was signed.

The series is a chronicle of the Occupy Caravan experience.
